I ordered a new USB3 cable becuase of all the advice to do so (seems to have helped some people).

So far, that maintains connection until the next eject. The quick fix seems to be to unplug the USB cable and plug it back in. Also tried different USB ports to no avail. I tried a USB2 cable I had but seemed to make little if any difference. The issue doesn't happen every time but mostly every time.
